Paulaner here tastes cleaner and smoother than in other tents because Käfer demands premium barrel conditioning - it's served exclusively from wooden barrels, not the steel taps most tents use. The beer has a slightly maltier finish with less hoppy bite, sitting at 6% alcohol. It's the same Oktoberfest märzen as elsewhere, just treated with more care in storage and serving.

Total capacity splits between 1,800 downstairs and 300 on the exclusive upper balcony, plus 800 in the beer garden. The balcony fills with reserved VIP tables by noon, while ground floor center tables go to corporate bookings. Your best shot without reservations is the beer garden after 3 PM or standing room near the bar after 8 PM.

Beer costs €15.50 per Maß - among the highest at Oktoberfest but includes table service and linen napkins. Food ranges from €18 for chicken to €45 for caviar service. Expect to spend €60-80 per person minimum for food and two beers. They accept cards, unusual for Oktoberfest, and 10-15% tips are expected for the white-glove service.

Bookings open in February but sell out within hours. Your alternatives: try the beer garden without reservations after 3 PM, or arrive before 11 AM when they sometimes have walk-in tables available.

Music ranges from traditional brass bands to modern covers as the night progresses.
